Dope Poet Jam (a Rime Royal album update)

If you wanna know how far along Rime Royal is on their new album, just ask Furious (aka Jay Floyd..mean muggin in the pic above). I recently did just that and he told me they got roughly 8-10 tracks done and wanna finish another 8-10 before they "start formulating a cohesive album". I don't know about the featured artists but Furious said he had been working closely with Shawn Charles (the man behind the beats on Full Scholarship) and Ajent O on this one. He also mentioned DJ's playing a role in the sound, with Jack da Rippa's name coming up..as well as Christie Love. What's next for RR?? "...an album photo shoot...and a new video...prolly for Signature Sound. man, we just got so much energy right now. I got a couple other projects I'm working on...I'm in the midst of a creative surge. I have to roll up to B-Side every week and spit some poetry to get some of it off my chest. It's a good feelin' right now...like the opposite of writer's block. Just gotta maintain focus." Jay Floyd, the poet? Nice.

NOTE: Jay wanted me to mention the "bet" Rime Royal has going with their brethren, Edotkom on which duo drops their album first. Apparently winners eachget a bottle of choice from the losing squad. Oughtta be interesting. I expect some bulletin board material to come about before this is all said and done. With that, I'll leave you with the promo album art that RR has released as a teaser...

OK,..one for the treble...two for the BASS.

Aye, back in action...it's the Dean himself..Juno Hu. I've been commissioned to come helm this ship once again for them I.V. League boys. Apparently, Speed's got his hands full running indieFive, and Jay is all over the place musically trying to be Euclid's Kanye.

Ok, let's start shit off right... It's 2009...beginning of a new era. We've done this before. Music is changing as the world changes. Barack is stepping in office next week and we symbolically step into a new age. What does music sound like now? It CAN sound like anything we want it to. I was in the lab with Rime Royal recently and I heard new tracks from Shawn Charles. wow. Rime Royal, in my opinion would be best served in taking their style all the way into the hard-edged rugged-honed tone that they have hit on in the past with "Classic Raw" and "Brodie". I see them getting there and the only thing missing is more songs. If they hit with 20-25 songs this year, I would be right in the fat kid/cake parable.

Quite frankly, I don't know quite what the IV league cats are gone sound or look like when they drop, all I know is that they will be dropping sum shyt this year and I'm anxious, as you should be .

How does this tie into my vlog? this is where you will get it from the horses mouth. Heard of Rime Royal and aint seen much of 'em...u gone see em here. have no clue what Shawn Charles looks like and who he's producing for next? Stay tuned. Wondering who will be the mystery act that I'm told will also be released this year? I WANNA KNOW TOO! Keep ya eyes here. In the mean time...here's Rime Royal in the flesh...alongside Dymondz, Jesse Lee, and Barrio...in the Fat Rats video extravaganza.. Out.
